Tanks will spawn 0:40, 1:55, 2:55, 4:25, 5:25, 5:35, 7:05, 7:45, 8:25 (there is a continuing pattern but this is all you need to keep in mind to get to the 10 minute gold mark. The problem you're likely having is that you're not taking them down fast enough and this compounds your problem when another tank will spawn up before you've killed the last one.

The best way to kill an expert tank as such is to lure it into an open area, and use sniper rifle fire to take it down.
